Exercises To Expand Your Mind Body Soul Experiences
83Untapped Functions, Power and Skills
Did I say exercises? Well I assure you this is not about jumping jacks, push ups or sit ups, those days ended years ago for me. Exercise has a wide variety of meanings, in this instance it refers to: "Something performed or practiced in order to develop, improve, or display a specific power or skill."
There are untapped functions, power and skills within our mind, body and soul. Knowing how to tap these reservoirs and practicing the techniques can expand, develop and improve, mind, body and soul experiences.
Variety of things smoothly blended
Where Are These Reservoirs?
The frontal lobe of the brain is where our emotions and feelings of expression exists. To the left of the frontal lobe, in the left hemisphere is where our logical functions reside. On the right side of the frontal lobe lies the right hemisphere holding creativity. Without proper training and practice these functions work separately and can become at odds with one another. Creating an internal conflict which manifests externally in our mind, body, soul experience.
Through integration of the frontal lobe, and the left and right hemispheres of the brain, this internal conflict can be eliminated. Comparing this to the choice of an array of fruits, rather than have to choose which one to indulge, we can blend them together and enjoy a smoothie.
So it can be with life, body, and soul experiences rather than choosing which one to indulge we can manifest a smooth transition of all three into one experience smoothly.
Amazing reverse writing video
Reverse and Non-Dominant Handwriting
Reverse writing is one technique used to begin this integration process. Begin with the dominant hand, write from right to left writing the letters and numbers backwards. Practice writing in this manner for three to six minutes daily.
Non-Dominant hand writing is another technique. Begin by writing as you normally would write with your dominant hand a few minutes each day. Use the non-dominant hand for eating, painting and other things to become increasingly comfortable with the use of both hands.
Combine the two by steps of progression as you become more comfortable and begin to write in reverse with the non-dominant hand. The blending process has begun and the more you practice these exercises the smoother and easier it will become as will other things in your life experience.
As this amazing video demonstrates when this integration takes place, a smooth flow of all processess takes place simultaneously.
Mirrored Reading
Get a mirror a hold it under your upside down book and read what it is in the mirror, or sit in front of a mirror holding the book facing the mirror and read the reverse print. Do this process also for three to six minutes daily. .
Eye Patching
Patching one eye for no more than twenty minutes and then the other is another practice for integration and blending for smooth mind, body, soul functioning. This process can be done while reading, watching television, or even while writing. To get even more effect try patching one eye and writing with the same hand as the eye that is patched, forward or reverse.
For more about eye patching, what it is and what it can do, read my hub, How to Change An Attitude or Perspective uilizing eye patching techniques.
Marching Or Crossover Exercises
When I think of marching I think of the military, but this process does not have to done so militantly. It can be done while sitting or even lieing down, it can be done with limited motion or extreme motion. Crossover exercises are accomplished by right arm, left leg action followed by left arm, right leg action. While seated, lift the left leg and crossover your right arm towards the leg or touch the knee with the hand. Do this process back and forth in whatever position you may be in.
Make a conscious effort to exaggerate this motion or to ensure the right, left crossover is happening at any time you may be walking, jogging or running anywhere. If walking, jogging or running is already a part of your exercise regime, enhance the process to more than body exercise by integrating this into the program.
Integrated and Blended
It may seem a little awkward and uncomfortable at first, but practice, expanding your comfort zone to enhance the mind, body, spirit experience. Anything that gets the brain, the eyes, the hands flowing in both directions integrates the two hemispheres and the frontal lobe. Eliminating inner and outer conflict and integrating, blending and smoothing our overall life experiences.

Great educational hub.
Namaste
OMG! I am in awe about this synchronicity- I just finished writing a hub which I haven't yet published, with part one sharing about not following through with change or goals, and on part two I was going to talk about the frontal lobe and how we can it make it work for us. I really believe the universe brought this article to me, as you explain it very well. I will be doing the exercises! I am kinda elated because I already have started to see changes.
I may still talk about the frontal lobe but a little differently; would like to mention your hub on part 2, as it will help others.
Thank you so much for sharing of yourself thorugh your writings.
I like this article, too! When I got to the mirrored reading, it brought back memories of mirror writing as a kid!
these exercises are great! i use a few similar things to cope with my cfs/M.E. exercises with the eyes like alternative blinking helps me calm down my central nervous systems when i start to feel really fatigued and shaky. the simple marching has also helped, and ofcourses the stress epidemic!
another really insightful blog. you are a wealth of knowledge! x
i do believe brain erxercises like these really help with nurological and nervous sysytem dysfunctions, aswell as learning difficulties.
I have tried writing with my left hand and found it impossible. My Mum was ambidextrous which came in handy was she had suffered a severe stroke. She quickly wrote proficiently with her left hand. However the loss of much of one side of her brain took many skils from her. These exercises sound interesting
Great Hub and great exercises Emohealer. I burned my right hand as a child and pretty soon learned to write with my left. I reverted by to right-handedness when the hand healed, but I will try writing again with my left hand and see if I can still do it!
Hi EmoHealer: I love the eyepatch exercise (I practiced while reading this hub :-) ). I see you linked to my Super Brain Yoga Hub; I decided to turn that hub into a blog post so I deleted it. Here's the post on my blog in case you want to link to that instead: http://abundance-blog.marelisa-online.com/2009/07/
Wow....this is a really interesting concept. Does it really help?
emohealer, thanks for writing such informative hub. I am glad that I am a fan so that I get these great writings. Thanks and keep them coming...
Now I get new information how to maximize my body and soul potential. I think nice for us to know our potential. I try to practice this exercise like your suggestion.
I bookmarked this hub.
I learned alot reading this hub. Thank you!
Hello! emohealer i like the "Reverse and Non-Dominant Handwriting" i started doing it few years ago. Very informative! Stay healthy!
I'm going to have to start incorporating these into my days. They sound like great ways to synch right and left!
emohealer, Very fascinating HuB! I had a girlfriend whose therapist had her do some left-hand drawing, and she challenged me to try it. I can never pass up a challenge...
Initially it was very uncomfortable. My right hand wanted to take over and grab the pencil out of my left hand! I resorted to sitting on my right hand to keep it out of control, silly as it sounds...The more I practiced, the easier it got. The ultimate discovery was that I draw better with my left hand, the non-dominant hand! Better shading and softer drawing, in comparison to the more linear right handed drawing! Amazing to me, given that I never could play the piano because my left hand just couldn't get the hang of it!
I will certainly try these exercises! I just love your Hubs! Wish I had stumbled upon you earlier in life!!!
Nice hub, a simple down to earth guide for boosting brainpower.
The description is nice, continuous and interest absorbing. The reader follows each and every word enhancing understanding of the subject matter.
With a bit of humor, a bit of caution @emohealer grabs you and forces you to learn how to expand you mind body soul.
Thanks for a good hub.
Brilliant - the concept of mirror writing came to me once after a creativity course - this is the first time I have seen it put into action - very cool
Thanks for a wonderful hub.

emohealer, this is a great article. I loved it so much that I not only bookmarked it, I tried to print it twice. I'm missing the print to the right at about five words a line. I tried twice. Oh well, I think that I have enough, with the bookmark to work with. Thank you so much for this article.
